CCR, Coffee & housework

Sometimes you have to say "screw thwe dumb stuff" and just stay home. I have a cold, feel yuck! I stayed home today. I am listening to CCR, drinking STRONG coffee and "piddiling" in the kitchen area. Doing dishes, taking a break, drinking coffee, smoking cigarretts. No traffic hassles, no people hassles (I work as a security guard on a factory gate) just me, my music and the Cat - her who rools the roost. It's a sunny day on Florida's Suncoast, the windows are open, a breeze is blowing. What a nice day to take a break and just relax around home.

This morning i put a cheap Bell Cyclo-puter on my Nishiki 10 speed, as well as a softer more "adult" seat that fits my fat 325lbs butt. Next payday I plan on upright handlebars, and new brake levers, and cables. I can't handle looking at the front wheel anymore. I want to ride "heads up!" Let those young kids in bubble helmets do that bent over thing. It's not for me.

I have been riding all summer and have lost 15 lbs. and 4 inches around the waist. 54" to a loose 50". I also feel better physically, except for this damn cold some fool at work gave me.

SO have a nice peaceful Sunday afternoon, and thank the good Lord I am alive on such a beautiful day.

Trash Pile Bicycles.

I just don't understand why Americans are so wastful. I just pulled a 1970s era Nishiki 10 Speed roadbike out of a trash pile. All it needed was new tires and tubes. $33.49 Is all this bicycle cost to be ridable. I also bought a more butt approiate seat from Walmart for $18.67. Next i plan on Rubber block pedals, and fenders, and upright handlebars and brake levers with two new brake cables. I expect I'll have about $100 or so in the bike when i have it where I want it. It will be the fastest "go fer" bike in Bradenton. I call it "Silver-Bird" because it's silver and it flies!
